Investigation Tasks:

  • Choose a creative and media practitioner
  • Base your choice on your own interests and tasks

An autuer? They have to work in more than one medium.

There are three outcomes:

  1. A research log; undertake research (primary and secondary) and research into the life and creative development of your practitioner. Research into the professional workings of the person as well their materials, techniques and technologies. Research into the audience for the work; who's it aimed at? Look at how the work is distributed; is it installation based for example? How do the audience respond to the work?
  2. Apply an appropriate critical methodoly to their work; talk about theories that apply to their work: auteur theory and apply it to their work.
  3. Respond critically to the work of the person; they have to work in two or more diciplines. Support your ideas and provide a critique on their work; make an assessment.

Clint Eastwood

Clinton 'Clint' Eastwood was born on May 31, 1930. Over his extraordinary career, audiences have seen him develop from an instantly recognisable actor, into a director, a producer and a composer.

In this unit, using both primary and secondary research, I will investigate into the work of Eastwood and discover how he has managed to expand his work across a multitude of disciplines. I will look into his background and understand any cultural or otherwise relevant factors that have influenced his work. I will also look at the creative development of Eastwood and what his professional working practices are. I will study his audience and who they are and look at the distribution of his work; as well as look at how these audiences respond to his work. Finally, I will investigate the techniques and technologies he uses in the creation of his work.
